This is a signed and numbered giclee print from an original acrylic painting by Larry Eifert. The artist warrants that there will not be more than 350 individual signed printed in the size and paper stated.
Beside the Creek
It was a little bit of a creek, really, and one that dried up in summer. Still, it was where I came often to paint redwoods. There was a road nearby so I didn't need to lug my paints far, and so I'd set up my little portable easel and set to work. I really learned to paint these great trees here, learned to notice things like the way the creek flowed around the tree, something it probably had done for a thousand years or so. The little waterfall there is actually created by another tree that fell centuries ago, and since redwood doesn't easy rot, it will probably remain a waterfall for centuries more. It's a place where times moves slowly, if we let it. Today, there are only 2.5% of the original old-growth redwoods left!
