This is a signed and numbered giclee print from an original acrylic painting by Larry Eifert. The artist warrants that there will not be more than 350 individual signed printed in the size and paper stated.
Snowshoe hares are so named because of their giant hind feet, useful for snow travel. These hares live where there's lots of snow. In winter, they turn white to help them hide from preditors. In spring, they turn brown and white, which matches the patchy melting snow, and in summer they're all brown.
Here on the Olypmic Peninsula in Western Washington, these hares are ONLY brown. They never turn white. AND, it rarely snows!
